old school

We all know that starwars has finally come out on dvd. For some of us however, we are not satisfied with the bastardized versions of the movies presented on those dvd's. So, we will settle for 10+ year old VHS tapes...

Why won't you just die?

Well, as a test, I decided to see if XP would install on my "dying" notebook hard drive. And to my disappointment, it did! AGH! Not only was that fact extremely annoying but all the HP and M$ drivel I had to go through to "set up my computer" made me want to play with sharp objects. So, I'm thinking (read: hoping) that if it heats up it'll fail, the HD that is. So, I'm playing mp3's on it ... for the last 4+ hours! and nothing. So to spite it I installed openoffice.

I went to the comic store today! And I got a lot of cool comics. Which brings something to mind. All of the ones I follow seem to come out in the same week, which makes the other weeks kind of ... bland ... nevertheless!

All are excellent. May I recommend Supreme Power for a somewhat 'realistic' look at superheros. I also recommend The Goon for your bi-seasonal dose of hilarity. This issue features Goon's exploits as a pro-football player, which ends in a blood bath. yeah. Well, I seem to remember I was going to write a lot more but I guess not. I'm going to play counter-strike and hope (sort of) that my notebooks hard drive will have an aneurysm.

late ... again

What is with me and staying up late ... well, early? Plans to go to sleep at a decent time were once again foiled by ... my self. And counter-strike:Source and posting on message boards and ... yes ... linux, OH! and wish-list preparation.
On the Linux front: I finally got Slackware installed on my HP Pavillion N5000 notebook. But, much to my dissmay (but entirely to my expectations) the HD finally died. So, I guess now I have to throw 80 bucks at some store and get a new one. I was running Slax (a linux Live CD) on it after it died. Maybe I'll just use it as an internet appliance or something. I can save stuff to my USB stick ... so it's still useful.
It was cool to be "on teh web" while playing CS:S. Although, it wasn't very good for my score. I have a picture:

I didn't use a flash because, when I do it doesn't give the right ... mood.

sigh

I am, thankfully, back to my normal self. That being semi-depressed, apathetic, sarcastic, cruel, to hell with everybody self. I do not want to be where I am, which can only be described as a Rough Draft of Hell. It contain zero people I like and a grand total of nothing to do. It even smells bad, the area as a whole, if you can believe that. They drive like old ladies, look like idiots, and act like ... well, you get the idea. As much as I hate this place there are some aspects that are not that bad.
I will, God willing, make it back to my stupid appartment and play counter-strike:source. That will make me ... content.
